SharePoint First Time Access

Each person in a Space City Tres Dias leadership position (whether on a weekend team or on the Board of Directors) has access to private resources in the community’s SharePoint site.  Users are assigned usernames based upon their position.  Generally, weekend team leadership members will log in with a generic “role_men/women@spacecitytd.org” username, while Board members will have a firstname.lastname@spacecitytd.org login.

You should have received an email with your login credentials (username and temporary password.)  You will need that information before proceeding with the steps below.

For security, all users are required to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) using the Microsoft Authenticator app.

This tutorial will walk through the steps of setting up the authenticator, resetting your temporary password, and accessing the resources site.  Those who have previously served in a leadership role will also need to follow the steps for removing a prior account from the Authenticator.

The Microsoft Authenticator app is set up in two main phases: 1) install the app on your phone, and 2) connect it to your SCTD Microsoft account using a QR code.

  • On your iPhone, open the App Store, search for “Microsoft Authenticator,” and install the official app published by Microsoft.  The Microsoft Authenticator logo is a blue shield-shaped icon with a white padlock symbol in the center, used as the app’s primary identity on mobile stores and Microsoft’s security pages.

  • On Android, open Google Play, search for “Microsoft Authenticator,” and install the official app published by Microsoft.

  • On a computer, go to the Security info page at mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info (or “Additional security verification” if Security info is not visible).

  • You should see “Let’s keep your account secure”.  Click the blue “Next” button.
  • On your phone, open the Microsoft Authenticator app, accept any prompts, then tap “+ Add account” and choose “Work or school account”

  • On the computer, when prompted, choose “Set up Authenticator” to display a QR code on‑screen; keep this window open.

  • In the app, choose “Scan a QR code” and point your phone’s camera at the QR code on your computer screen to link the account; if the camera cannot scan, use the “enter code and URL manually” option shown on the security page.

  • After the code is scanned, the security page will send a test notification or code to your phone; approve the notification or enter the code in the browser to finish setup.

Each person in a leadership position is assigned a username and temporary password.  This information will be sent to your primary email address in a welcome email sent from the IT Committee.   The subject of the email is  “SCTD IT Tools.”

Log in with your assigned username@spacecitytd.org and the temporary password.  You will be required to reset the password when you first log in.

Please contact IT@SpaceCityTD.org if you cannot locate the email message.

If you have previously served in a Space City leadership role, you will likely have an old account on your Microsoft Authenticator App.  To remove the old account:

  1.  Tap on the account in the authenticator app.
  2. Click the gear setting in the top right corner
  3. Tap “Remove Account.”
